Update

30% design completed in November 2008.

SPA Board approved the new project on June 13, 2006
Artist Selection completed in January 2007

Description
This project provides an opportunity for artist Stacy Levy to create integrated design enhancements to the streetscape that increase the comfort and aesthetics along Thomas Road. The City’s objectives are to focus on the walking and bicycling environment on Thomas Road which is classified as a major arterial from 64th Street to Miller Road and as a minor arterial from Miller Road to Pima Road. Stacy Levy has reviewed the project guidelines and begins working with the project team in January 2009 with a preliminary site visit. Public meetings will be scheduled or community input during spring 2009 as the artist is developing her designs.

Artist
Stacy Levy in her projects explores making nature visible even in the city. She looks for sites that give the opportunity to bring the patterns and processes of the natural world into the built environment.
